We are seeking a motivated and qualified Practice Nurse to join our team on a 12-month maternity leave contract with the option to extend or convert to part-time/full-time at the conclusion of the contract.

Start date is negotiable but ideally from late October to late November.

Key Responsibilities:

• Tertiary Qualifications & Registration: Hold an appropriate tertiary qualification and be registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia.
• Driver’s Licence: A current and valid driver’s licence is essential.
• Clinical Equipment Maintenance: Ensure sterilisation and proper maintenance of clinical equipment. Maintain stock levels of clinical supplies, including proper storage, removal of expired stock, and placing orders when necessary.
• Patient Health Outcomes: Conduct screening and preventative procedures, educate patients, and assist in community health promotion activities. Coordinate recall programs, GP management plans, and team care arrangements.
• Patient Visits: Provide home or hospital visits as needed, including antenatal and post-natal care and health assessments.
• Clinical Duties: Perform tasks such as triage, immunisations, wound management, chronic disease management, ECGs, and pathology collection. Assist doctors with clinical procedures and ensure accurate clinical documentation.
• Patient Support: Explain procedures, offering reassurance and support to patients. Assist with patient advocacy, care planning, and data management. Call patients with test results as directed by the medical team.

Essential Skills & Qualifications:

• Tertiary Qualification in Nursing.
• Registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia.
• Current driver’s licence.
• Ability to perform a range of clinical tasks, including immunisations, wound management, and chronic disease care.
