We have a position available for a general practitioner to join our busy medical practice. Employment is offered on a full or part-time basis.

We are a small family practice, located in the heart of the growing and vibrant Yass Valley and Canberra region. Our team is presently made up of 3 general practitioners with a range of interests and between us, a diverse patient base.

We have a close-knit and supportive team, and pride ourselves on high levels of professionalism and service to our patients, coupled with warmth and approachability. We operate on a mixed billings basis, and our practice is registered for accreditation this year. We operate during normal business hours, Monday to Friday, and we do not require on-call or weekend work. General registration is required, however, the position is open to both non-vocationally registered and vocationally registered candidates.

Yass is 45 minutes from Canberra, and multiple beautiful historic towns including Harden, Young, Boorowa and Junee dot the surrounding landscape. We are well-supported by 3 local pharmacies and a range of excellent allied health professionals across multiple disciplines of physiotherapy, dietetics, speech pathology, occupational therapy, and rehabilitation. Yass District Hospital, as well as Goulburn Base Hospital, Calvary Hospital and The Canberra Hospital are available in the event of need for either emergency or outpatient referral.

The successful candidate will be thorough and safe in their approach to patients, and communicate well with all members of the team. They will mesh well with the dynamics of a small community, understanding the visibility and high level of community trust that accompanies the role of a local general practitioner. Maintaining good relationships not only with patients but also local professional colleagues will be a high priority for the successful candidate.

The salary package can be negotiated as an agreed wage, or as a combination of a wage and percentage of billings. Successful applicants may also be eligible for the Workforce Incentive Program (WIP) and NSW Rural Doctors Network Grants.
