Yerin Eleanor Duncan Aboriginal Health Centre (Yerin) is looking for a full- or part-time GP to join our highly motivated team providing holistic, person-centred and trauma-informed care to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander clients and their families. The Central Coast has the fastest growing Aboriginal population in Australia, with 17,074 Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people living in the region (ABS 2021).

General Practitioner Wyong, NSW

Wyong situated an ideal 1-hour drive from Sydney, 1 hour from Newcastle and 1 hour from the beautiful Hunter Valley.

About the Service
Yerin is a well-established Aboriginal community-controlled organisation which has provided primary care to the local community for over 27 years. Our location is accessible by public transport and has a transport service where needed. Yerin collaborates closely with Central Coast Local Health District and the Hunter New England Central Coast (HNECC) Primary Health Network and a multitude of other local and non-government services to ensure optimal pathways of care for Aboriginal people.

About the Opportunity:
Yerin is an AGPAL accredited practice offering comprehensive care and services including chronic disease management, mental health, antenatal care, women and mens health, screening and early intervention for children and young people and supportive care to elders through our Transdisciplinary team. The team consists of:

General Practitioners and Practice Nurses
Aboriginal Health Workers
Psychologists, counsellors
Midwife and Childhood Nurse
Visiting Specialists (Alcohol and other Drugs, Endocrinologist, Paediatricians and Psychiatrist)
Visiting Allied Health (Diabetes Educator, Dietitian, Optometrist, Physiotherapist, Podiatrist, Speech Pathologist)

Yerin also provides a range of community programs to support access to primary care services, and to support prevention and early intervention for the community we serve.

Essentials for the role:

AHPRA-registered General Practitioner with VR status, unrestricted or working towards fellowship.
Previous Australian general practice experience
A passion and commitment to working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people
Current medical indemnity and CPR certificate
